制造话题是Manic擅长的技俩，他们发表《KnowYourEnemy》前，在同一天推出两张单曲〈SoWhySoSad〉和〈FoundThatSoul〉。〈SoWhySoSad〉是首极流畅悦耳的PopRock作品，感觉就如听Beyond一样，而〈FoundThatSoul〉则相反，Punk得彻底，重拾乐队早年情怀。至于就整张《KnowYourEnemy》而言，明显地不像《ThisIsMyTruthTellMeYours》那般保守，Manic今次作出很多新尝试，除了清爽结他流行曲〈YearOfPurification〉和〈HisLastPainting〉外，还有淡淡Country味道的〈LetRobesonSing〉与狂野咆哮的〈MyGuernica〉，不过最大突破该是那几首电子曲目，〈MissEuropaEuroDancer〉的跳跃WhiteFunk与〈FreedomOfSpeechWon’tFeedMyChildren〉的爆炸性ElectronicRock都带来耳目一新感觉，由低音结他手NickyWire主唱的〈WattsvilleBlues〉很接近DavidHolmes的《BowDownToTheExitSign》声音，刺激非常。
