故事是这样开始的：Kid Congo Powers在一场Pere Ubu演唱会结束后遇见了打扮很“另类”的Jeffrey Lee Pierce，两人聊了音乐喝了酒然后成了好朋友。Jeffrey塞给他一把吉他两张唱片，命令他学会弹吉他。到1980年初，他俩和朋友们一起组建了The Gun Club。这支乐队的风格在美国早期蓝调和山地摇滚(Rockabilly)的根源上融合了朋客的疯狂无序，是所谓Psychobilly风格的代表性乐队。不用说，他们都是创造了该风格的乐队The Cramps的扇子：78年的时候，Kid乘着“灰狗”来到纽约城看了他们的演出，从此就成了The Cramps的狂热歌迷。1980年12月，Kid Congo从The Cramps歌迷正式晋升为The Cramps的吉他手，同他们录制了专辑。不过到了83年秋天，The Gun Club又重新赢回了Kid Congo Powers直至95乐队最后一次巡演…… |
